Tryout objective: The Cheyenne Junior League Board has elected to support a competitive program. Cheyenne Stars teams, 8U-12U age groups are being formed at this time to provide an opportunity for players and coaches to practice and prepare for the 2016 season. These teams will represent CJL throughout regional tournaments during the 2016 season. Stars tryouts are conducted to assess the baseball skills of each player. Skill assessments are being conducted by coaches and independent evaluators. Players will be evaluated and rated based on their skills displayed at the tryout. The top rated players will be contacted and offered a roster spot. Teams will carry 11 or 12 players on their roster.
Players selected and accepting a roster spot will be required to pay a non-refundable $100 registration fee to secure the roster spot.Total cost of STARS and CJL registration is $250.Remaining balance of $150 due before January 9th, 2016.All families will be required to help in all team fundraisers. These fundraisers are held to reduce costs to your family. The estimated per player cost for a successful competitive season is $1000.
Regular Season Play: Due to the time and conflicts between Stars and regular season CJL Teams, players have the option to opt out of regular season CJL play. Every effort will be made to avoid scheduling conflicts if players do wish to participate in both.
The Junior League Board allows Stars teams to sell sponsor banners to raise money for team expenses. Banners will hang on CJL fences throughout the complex.
