General Information about the CJL New Date for player eligibility: The CJL Board has adopted the new date for player eligibility. This is in conjunction with the same dates that the National Baseball Congress (NBC) adopted last year. This will have an effect on your child's division of play if they were born between April 30 and July 31.   The policy is as follows: The dates were moved from July 31st to April 30th. AA: All AA players 9 years old on or before April 30th will play AAA AAA: All AAA players 11 years old on or before April 30th will play Majors Majors: All Majors players 13 years old on or after May 1 will still play as a 12 year old in the Majors Note: Any 12 year old that chooses to participate in the CJL division is no longer eligible to participate in any Youth League Majors/Minors division events, including all-star play. They will be eligible to participate in the CJL division all-star events.   Information from the President of the Cheyenne Junior league Parents, remember it is important to encourage our kids and to keep in mind how parents act impacts the kids play. I would ask that we refrain from making comments that distract your child as well as the other players and parents on the field and in the stand. The players look to us as the role models, and as the Coach I need each and every one of the parents to make sure that we not only encourage our own kid but those around them. I have inserted some statements below that I follow as a coach and parent. Please remember that we all are teachers in life and our actions speak louder than words. I also need the players to focus on the coaching staff, not only for the game but, for safety concerns as well. I also need the kids to stay in the dug out during game times. At times I will ask parents assist in warming up players before going into a game. Player & Parent Conduct 1) I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in the Cheyenne Junior League Baseball program by following this Player & Parents' Code of Conduct: 2) I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other events. 3) I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win. 4) I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment. 5) I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. 6) I will remember that the game is for youth - not adults. 7) I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child. 8) I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability. 9) I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation. 10) I will have my child at practice/games on time.  If my child is unable to make it to a game or practice, I will notify the coach as soon as possible.  Thanks the Coaching Staff & CJL Board.   Along Other Lines...
